AMA with Prosper

Nebo: First of all I want to thank you for accepting our invitation. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role within Prosper?

Vlad: My name is Vlad. I have legal and financial background. I am in crypto for a long time, started selling btc from 2011(maybe that is a good thing that i don’t give trading though). I have experience in various roles in the industry, one of the latest one being a co founder of Prometes (PROM). As part of our expansion to other areas, we decided to incubate Prosper in order to capture potential of blockchain in prediction markets. As with Prometeus, in Prosper I am responsible for business development, overall strategy, partnerships and project vision.

Nebo: Interesting. Can you briefly explain Prosper?

Vlad: Sure. Prosper is non-custodial prediction market platform. Basically it uses liquidity pool and amm approach of uniswap in order to provide platform users to join or create pools on various predictions.

Here we will move in several directions.

Crypto (various short term predictions for prices of crypto assets).

Then we will add sport events.

And then we plan to introduce products akin to decentralized lottery pools based on chainlink decentralized variance.

There will be standardized pools provided by the platform and custom based unique pools (like which project will be next launchpad, etc.)

Nebo: I see, so what’s special about Prosper considering there are other prediction market platforms.

Vlad: I think main point is our approach. Some projects trying to build a huge infrastructure and decentralized oracles and target a lot of different markets at a same time. Some of them use not really scalable block chains thus incurring high transaction fees.

We are more user focused and try to build template products that can be most engaging and simple to use for users. We know that user wants to do action in several clicks, and that is our goal.

Secondly we target only specific markets to have narrow focus and easier user acquisition there then to spread out to several areas.

Thirdly, from blockchain perspective we are trying to be a cross chain prediction platform (currently Ethereum, Avalanche, Matic and Binance Smart Chain). Thus we are solving potential scalability problems of each chain and and having support of community of each chain that have quite a different geographies.

Nebo: I hear that TGE is around the corner. What can we expect from Prosper in the near future? What are your plans?

Vlad: We don’t see a need to wait with TGE for a long time as we think it is always better to give liquidity to backers earlier. Till February we will be launching Prosper platform across Matic, BSC and Avalanche, provide different price prediction pools for various assets, creating token swaps between chains and deploying all utility features of PROM

Q2 will be focused on user acquisition and liquidity program.

Nebo: Exciting! That’s good to hear.

Let’s have the community ask questions now.

Member 1: We rarely see that protocols in the ecosystem announce they get grants. What will Matic ‘s grant contribute to your roadmap? Do you also seek for any investment?

Vlad: I believe Matic is not really announcing their direct support of any project. Prosper is one the few that they publicly supported.

Member 2: Can you give information about the PROS token? What advantages will they have with PROS?

Member 3: How do you plan to spread awareness about your project in different countries/regions where English is not spoken well like in Asia which has a large population and has the potential to be your users?
Do you have local communities for them to let them better understand about your project?

Vlad: Through combination of three things:

Crypto marketing
Traditional marketing
Liquidity and farming program

Member 4: Many new projects made a good impression at first but were suddenly abandoned. How will you manage the project and token to gain a place in the market and become a best token in the blockchain world?

Vlad: Prosper is partly done by Prometeus. So one can see that Prometeus from its start in early 2019, have constantly made progress both product and token liquidity wise. We plan to have similar approach for Prosper.

Member 5: With PROSPER, will it be possible to obtain the best market predictions for the different projects? Or will they simply train users so that each one can develop their own predictions?

Vlad: Good questions. In the first stages, we will start with introduction with products for crypto predictions. Then will expand to other areas. Our strategy is to do one step at a time to attract users to specific products and get market feed so that we can be flexible and then expand it to other markets. As for prediction liquidity aggregation, at this stage it is not planned as blockchain prediction field is only in the infant stage and has low liquidity at the moment.

Member 6: How does Prosper predict plan for adoption of new crypto users (I mean, make it easy to understand and use for “normal” people)? or is this just a “gambling” site?

Vlad: I would say it is still a grey area for most people. Gambling and prediction market do not have definite borders at the moment. I think it is actually user dependent. Some people can just come and gamble for predictions, some can arbitrage or hedged prediction. Some can just come and make custom predictions with friends. Some can do their custom pools or lotteries, attract users to it and make profit from fees.
