AMA with MobiFi

Nebo: Welcome Yudi to our community! Thanks for being here today with us.

Yudi: Thanks for inviting me, my pleasure.

Nebo: Awesome! We’ll start by asking several questions, then the community will ask theirs.

Nebo: Can you quickly introduce yourself and your role within MobiFi?

Yudi: Yes. So I am by background information and computer science, also did the business school in Rotterdam. previously worked as the CTO consultant for Shell IT CTO.

I am the project lead of MobiFi, basically I in charge of most of the stuff😂

Nebo: Very Interesting. Can you explain what is MobiFi and how does it work?

Yudi: Sure, MobiFi is building the first-ever Corda to DeFi bridge (to polkadot) that opens the door for transitional business to join the DeFi and crypto game. We will be using this Bridge to power our own mobility solution that streamline the transport UX as well as turning the dormant mobility capital into investable capital into DeFi products.

Bridge part will be completely open sourced. the mobility part is gonna be the company’s core business that generate revenue.

Nebo: What kind of DeFi products are we talking here? Can you give examples

Yudi: Sure, I can give two examples.

  1. We enable our mobility user to leverage their dormant mobility capital to invest in DeFi platform like AAVE, Compound, etc this is pretty standard, everyone is doing that. We will also provide our $MOFI token staking for LP to earn more profit through us.
  2. Due to our mobility business nature, where a lot of user data will be generated. So we will offer a secure and anonymous way for people to sell their data via our partner’s platform. Like staking their data to earn profit. We will announce our data market partners in the coming weeks. 😉

Nebo: Sounds exciting.

Yudi: Basically, we will link our $MOFI to all kinds investable product in the market to help our user earn money. In the same time, they can still use it to purchase mobility services like parking, bus ticket etc

Nebo: Got it. Do you have competitors at the moment building something similar?

Yudi: Corda to DeFi bridge, I think no, we are probably the only one. And a completely open source one. Mobility side, I do see some traditional competitors are there. like mobility as a service provider, like WHIM, moovel, etc.

Also payment provider like Paypal, Alipay… but our parking service partner already complianed to us that those tranditional payment are too expensive, that’s why they want to work with us.

Nebo: I see, and one of the major differences would be that you’re decentralized?

Yudi: Yes, that’s one thing. so it’s not only about price, A decentralized system makes it easier to onbaord different mobility service providers. You know that a lot of them are actually competitors. How can you convice them to share data in a centralized platform? Though political game.

Nebo: Fully agreed.

We offer a transparent data exchange platform with a need-to-know basis, so they have the full control of their data

Nebo: Is TGE around the corner? What can we expect from MobiFi in the near future? What are your plans?

Yudi: Yes, TGE is very close around corner, we are just finalizing a few things so that we can announce the details. Probably by end of this week.

MobiFi future

We will be replacing those traditional transportation card company, we want to give back the money that belong to its owner, to generate profit for its owner when it’s not being used.

We will work (and have been working) with mobility service providers to create mini transport hub to support sustainable mobility for cities.

About the Bridge: we will be sponsoring a development program to boost the ecosystem in both corda and polkadot, to open the door for traditional business to join DeFi. deep pocket guys 😉

Nebo: Is that coming soon? I’m sure many would be interested.

Yudi: Yes, we will be realizing the first version of code base by the end of Q2, and we have been talking some communities to co-organize some global event for it. So a lot of things in the coming months.

Member 1: Why doesn’t @mobi_fi follow anyone on Twitter? :) What is your general communication manner ?

Yudi: hahaha, currently it’s just one-way of marketing, due to limited resources of the team. So more interactions is on TG. but we will do more interactions in twitter.

Member 2: Where can I buy #Mobifi tokens? when #Mobifi token is listed on exchanges.

Yudi: the same day of TGE, it will be listed on Uniswap as well. After that, we have plans to put it on some CEX as well.

Member 3: Earning tokens is easy, but is it really hard to make this token valuable? What can you do to make your token more valuable? Do you have any Coin Burn / BuyBack system or any #Mobifi burn plan to increase the value of Token and attract Investors?

Yudo: Firstly, based on our economic model, the total circulation of the token will decrease overtime, every time a token is used to purchase mobility service, it will be burned. So the price will go up.

Secondly, the growing mobility market from our side will create crazy amount of demand. Everyone will ask for MoFi TOKEN to invest and use our services. When demand is high, the price goes up as well.

Member 5: Mobility credits are also might be tracible via Mobifi solutions for carbon footprint solutions? Any idea about that?

Yudi: oh yeah, very good point. We will definitely do that. We are currently in conversation with some local municipalities. To create a eco, zero footprint future is definitely the goal.

Yudi: So I see a lot similar questions about how we sustain the business for long term, what is our business model.

The business model of MobiFi is on the mobility part, we don’t earn money from the bridge, the bridge fee will be given back to node runner/stakers and the community

We have tangible business by offering mobility services. it’s $1000 billion market. and there is endless challenges for cities to overcome it. we will be charging service provider a flat transaction fee for each purchase user make. That’s a huge market to sustain this business to become the next unicorn.

Member 6: Are you aware of https://twitter.com/Fetch_ai? One of their use cases is AI agents that can make use of mobility data. Will you consider partnering with them?

Yudi: yes, I’ve heard of this company, will definitely have a talk with them. potential partners.

Member 7: Some DeFi projects were recently “hacked” as per their explanations. How do you think these recent events on other DeFi products affects the trust by users? What can Your Project do in order to ensure crypto enthusiasts that DeFi is safe and reliable?

Yudi: we implement and develop the product to meet all the security standard of course. plus, we will be working with insurers to protect our end user’ fortune even it’s be exploited. So almost risk-free😉
