AMA with Bitspawn

Eric: Hello everyone!

Nebo: Welcome Eric! Thanks for being with us today. Let us know when you’re ready!

Eric: I am ready.

Nebo: Awesome. Could you please introduce yourself and explain your role within Bitspawn.

Eric: My name is Eric Godwin, I am the Founder of Bitspawn. I have been involved in the crypto space since 2015 and I am a former competitive gamer.

I lead the team and product development for Bitspawn.

Nebo: Cool — could you briefly explain what is Bitspawn and how did it start?

Eric: Bitspawn is an open-source gaming protocol built with the goal of creating a global decentralized gaming economy and enabling the 2 billion plus gamers around the world to gain access to new streams of revenue and income outside the traditional areas of streaming and content creation.

Nebo: Interesting. Do you have competitors at the moment building something similar?

Eric: Yes we have some competitors in the space both in legacy tech and the blockchain side. All of our competitors are centralized solutions and don’t allow users to build their own competitive marketplaces or communities directly on chain.

We are one of the first competitive and social gaming infrastructure platforms, instead of being a gaming DApp.

We have our main webapp, but with the launch of our network token and blockchain, users will be able to create their own apps.

Nebo: Nice. What would be the utility of the token?

Eric: Our network token has multilevel functionality. Wallet staking, rewards and progression, community governance, entry fee and prize pool payment, and lending are the main utility functions.

Nebo: Got it. What can we expect from Bitspawn in the near future? What are your plans?

Eric: in the short term we will be launching our network token in May with an IDO on Solstarter, adding new features and enhancements to our main webapp: including wager matches and gamified progression rewards. Later in the summer we will be launching Bitspawn native NFTs and our version of DeFi for gamers: liquidity pools for gaming events. By the end of the year we aiming to be fully migrated from Ethereum to Solana as our layer-1 chain.

Nebo: Impressive. Is the IDO on Solstarter confirmed?

Eric: Yes. We are in the process of finalizing the IDO date with them. We will be one of the first projects to launch on Solstarter.

Nebo: Nice — feels like the best is yet to come! I’m sure the community has a lot of questions to ask — so let’s have them!

Member 1: You say Bitspawn lets any gamers earn ! Will there be any Pay-to-Earn mechanism like Trivia Games for the ones who wants to maximize their revenues? How will compensation mechanism work for people who loses?

Eric: With bitspawn, you dont have to be a pro gamer to earn revenue. We provide a number of ways for users to earn money outside of playing directly for prizepools. For example you can earn money by: hosting tournaments and events, growing your gaming communities, managing teams, provding prizepool liquidity to events and earn interest, and creating NFTs.

Member 2: Can you advise who are the current well known gamers who are already in contact with bitspawn? and how they are helping the project?

Eric: We are working with, one of canada’s largers esports organizers, and virtual pro network, a Fifa league with over 50k players. We will also be announcing more teams and large streamers partnering with bistpawn soon. So check our socials for those announcement :)

Member 3: Does Bitspawn plan to implement features which involve/include other community sites such as Twitch, Reddit etc.?

Eric: We will have twitch integration and youtube gaming, we are also looking at facebook gaming.

Member 4: Hello, do you plan to have any partnerships with Streaming platforms like Twitch, or more decentralized ones, to maybe broadcast bigger tournaments ?

Eric: We are working onpartnerships with both blockchain and non blockchain streaming platforms

Member 5: I see NFTs also involved in here, can you explain a bit more how that comes into play on bitspawn eco system?

Eric: We will have NFT rewards associated with progression and gaming events. The NFTs will have real value outside of the art themselves. For example the NFTs will grant XP bonuses on bispawn, access to exclusive events, discounts on entry fees, etc. Players will be able to lend out their NFTs to others who would like to utilize those intrinsic bonuses to gain an edge.

Member 6: the 2nd question I am an nft artist how can bitspawn help us to earn $$? and is there any verified system to identify i am not using some 1 elses work ?

Eric: Bitspawn will be partnering with artists to work on NFTs for our own webapp, but with our open source solution you can create your own gaming NFT marketplaces.

Member 6: Do you have any strategies in place to attract and convert non gamers or non pc gamers ?

Eric: Yes, so for bitspawn, you don’t have to be a gamer to earn money. You can use our DeFi tools to lend liquidity to gaming events and earn interest.

Member 7: Hi @ericgod . Wanna the name of investor and partrners. May you inform us please

Eric: Dextools, CSP DAO, Moonwhale ventures, Revelation Fund, Fairum ventures are some of our investors and partners.

Member 8: Hello Eric, will your platform supply its users with anti-cheat clients or rely on anti-cheat server hosts to ensure the integrity for any of your skill betting/tourneys? And if so, will this be self-developed tech or are you preparing partnerships to deal with this?

Eric: We will building our own anti cheat software in the long term that anyone can use, but in the short term we will utilize the anti cheat games currently have. If games dont have anti-cheat, such as warzone, we have a way to incentivize users to earn money to observe gaming events and monitor cheating on platform. We call it a decentralized dispute resolution system.

Member 9: Any plans to officially partner with games? To hold contests for example

Eric: We are a Steamworks partner and are fully integrated into titles such as CSGO and DOTA2, We are working on partnerships with Riot Games, Activision, EA, and Ubisoft.

Member 10: Which projects do you see as your main competitors?

Eric: On the blockchain side there is exceedme and ultra. On the traditional side there are platforms like FaceIt and battlefy.

Member 11: And what’s the advantage of streaming with bitspawn vs say theta?

Eric: Bitspawn is focusing on features for gamers outside of streaming. Streaming is a saturated space and projects like Theta would be strategic partners. We want to focus on untapped areas for gamers to make money.

Member 12: How do you ratio earnings for those who aren’t that great in gaming — but are casual?

Eric: We are instituting a ranking and matchmaking methodology so that new gamers or casual players wont get matched up against pros, unless they want to. We will have leagues and tiered ranking systems for events so players know which are in their skill bracket.

Member 13: Are you focused on pc games to start with or mobile or both?

Eric: We are focused on PC and consoles for now but will be aggressively expanding into the mobile market.

Member 14: How are you different from chain games?

Eric: Chaingames is a centralized DApp where you have to use their platform to compete. Bitspawn is an open source infrastructure protocol so we allow users to create their own apps and communities on our chain. They do not have to use our main webapp to earn money or see benefits.

Member 15: I see. So are you a scaling solution then for games?

Eric: we are a protocol where you can build your own ‘chaingames’ style app. We give you the freedom to build your own competitive marketplaces and communities

Member 16: So just to understand — bitspawn is to ensure that there is no issue with professional gaming payments — there’s a lot of this happening in the pro scene in the past years. However a lot of these organisations take a slice of the pie for organising the event etc etc, while players themselves dont get a lot. How do you fit in this value chain though, are you just a payment system, or will you be involved in events as well?

Eric: We ensure payout for all events is trustless and players always receive their winnings. Organizers cannot hoard prizepools or take more than they deserve. In the long term Bitspawn will be running its own leagues from the amateur to professional level
